"This is the hardest story that I've ever told. No hope or love or glory. Happy endings gone forevermore"

We interrupt our regularly scheduled series to say...
Vic, did you find what you were looking for? Two hours is an ungodly amount of time to spend on my blog. Shouldn't you be working? Does the boss allow his employees to tool around on the internet all day?

Jon-Marc,
Your website postings have helped me gain insight and info re: my uncle Richard’s condition. Through your writing I am able to understand the depth of your relationship with my uncle. I truly believe that he loves you as much as you love him, even though Richard betrayed you by withholding the status of his HIV.
Recently your Dad mailed a letter addressed to Mert. Mert called your Dad after receiving the letter, and the conversation did not go well. Your Dad sent a 2nd letter addressed to Audrey. In the second letter, your Dad threatened to drop Richard off at their house, on any given day, at 1 pm or 1 am with no notice. Both letters contained cruel remarks that have frightened and upset both Mert and Audrey. Mert has since been to the hospital for chest pains and breathing difficulties.
Mert and Audrey are both struggling to come to terms with the extent of Richard’s betrayal, his full-blown AIDS, and the fact that financially and physically they are not capable of taking care of Richard. They are elderly people who are not in good health. Audrey is still under doctor’s care and recovering from knee replacement history. Mert has a heart condition associated with an aneurism. When their HVAC system broke down this season, Mert had to borrow money to replace it.
Mert explained to your Dad that if he had the money to give you then he would. He also explained that he and Audrey are not physically capable of nursing Richard.
I have thought about you and Richard daily since I learned about everything after the first of the year. The info I provided you re: financial assistance for Richard came from my Mom. I was only trying to help you in a dire situation; I didn’t mean to offend you. I do understand that you are at the mercy of the bureaucrats.
I don’t understand longsuffering even though I have lived, eaten and breathed it. I do feel your pain and my heart bleeds for you. Even though I cannot give you any financial support, I can give you my emotional support.
